Our Most Valuable Possession
Today, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj focused on our most precious possession. Living at the level of our physical senses, we take ourselves to be our body, mind, and intellect, he said. As such, we assume these to be our most valuable treasures, focusing all our time and efforts on keeping the body fit, strengthening the mind, and fine-tuning our intellect.
However, when we leave this world, the body that we cared so much about disintegrates and returns to matter. The physical mind and intellect leave with the body. They are momentary in the larger scheme of life, said the spiritual Master. What remains, even after physical death, is our soul, which is our true nature.
The soul is a part of God and enlivens our body. It is our most prized possession, yet we remain unaware of it. We can only experience our soul when we withdraw our attention from the world outside and focus it within through meditation. We then awaken to our spiritual nature and realize the true purpose for which we have been given this human birth.
