Sant Darshan Singh Ji Maharaj’s 98th Birth Anniversary
This evening, a large international gathering came together at the Science of Spirituality Center in Lisle, Illinois to celebrate the 98th birth anniversary of Sant Darshan Singh Ji Maharaj (1921-1989).
Sant Darshan Singh Ji Maharaj was a celebrated poet-saint, with the rare gift to present pearls of spirituality in potent verses that would otherwise take volumes of books to convey. Embarking on four world tours to spread the message of spirituality to the West, his boundless love touched the hearts and souls of the countless thousands who met him.
The program this evening was a beautiful ode to a spiritual Master who was the epitome of compassion, grace and humility. Sant Rajinder Singh Ji spoke on the life and teachings of Sant Darshan Singh Ji Maharaj, and the light that he shone upon the whole world through his universal message of love, peace and unity at the level of the soul.
Expounding on verses from a hymn, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji brought home the timeless message that the saints and mystics of all ages come to remind us of – that through meditation we can all experience the soul’s connection with God. God is an Ocean of All Love, he said, and the more we dip into this Ocean through meditation, the closer we get to realizing the purpose of this life, which is the union of our soul with its Source.
