Spiritual Discourse at the International Meditation Center, Lisle, Illinois
In his first Saturday evening program after returning to Chicagoland, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj took questions of a spiritual nature from the audience. Speaking on the topic of developing true compassion, he said to have true compassion is to be in a state where we are helpful to everyone. Compassion, he explained, is a trait we embody when we have love within us. Therefore to be compassionate to all, we need to be in a state where we feel our oneness with others. This happens as we meditate and go within. The spiritual Master said the journey within reveals to us that we are all part of one family of God. It helps us realize our oneness with God and with all of God’s creation, and we then develop love for all God’s creation. Vegetarianism, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji added, comes from such compassion for God’s creation. He concluded by saying through meditation and connection with the Divine Power within us, we can develop true compassion.
