200th Health Camp Hosted by Sawan Kirpal Ruhani Mission/Science of Spirituality
Recently, volunteer teams of physicians, dietitians, and therapists came together for the 200th health camp, held on the grounds of Darshan Academy, Delhi. Throughout the day, teams triaged long lines of villagers from neighboring communities, screening them for chronic conditions such as hypertension, heart disease, and diabetes.
Those found to be in need of medical attention were given immediate care by the many clinicians on the team. Individuals in need of specialists were referred to the appropriate care services.
Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj commended the volunteers for their service, remarking that such camps help people on many levels. In particular, he said, they serve an unmet need for underserved populations that may not have access to medical care or may not be aware of its necessity or availability.
In keeping with the organization’s commitment to seva (selfless service), it has held 200 health camps where, to date, health care professionals have served more than 38,000 patients. This ongoing initiative attracts volunteers who are drawn to help in this humanitarian effort. They come not only from India but also from other countries.
