Learn to See through the Inner Eye
This evening at Kirpal Bagh, Delhi, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji Maharaj spoke on the topic of finding lasting peace. When we look at the world around us, we observe differences in form, color, faith, belief, and various other outer traits. As viewed through our physical eyes, these differences inevitably separate us from others and lay the foundation for conflict and turmoil. We must learn to see the world from a different perspective to find peace.
This change in perspective occurs when we develop spiritual vision, which grants us the ability to transcend outer material differences and see our oneness and interconnectedness with all of God’s creation. Spiritual vision helps us see others as an extension of ourselves. When this happens, we become more loving, respectful, and harmonious in our interactions, paving the way to peace in our lives.
How can we attain the spiritual vision that makes lasting peace possible? We can develop it when, through the grace and guidance of a spiritual Master, our inner eye is opened, and we learn to embark on the inner spiritual journey through meditation. With this, we begin to see that the same Light of God shines in every living creature. It is then that we embrace our oneness and experience our interconnectedness with God’s creation.
Drawing upon a verse by the poet-saint Sant Darshan Singh Ji Maharaj, Sant Rajinder Singh Ji described how the Light of God is omnipresent. It is within us, without us, and in every living being. It is in everything in nature, every rainbow, every sunrise, and every sunset. Even the smallest particle in creation brings good news of God’s presence, says the verse. The Light of God dispels the darkness of the world. This Light can be experienced when we open ourselves up to God’s love through meditation.
